Twilight Zone Narration Contest 2023 Entry 2
Title: Game Over at Level 13 Opening: “The year is 1982 and this is J.J. Cooney, a video game wiz kid whose world consists of eight bit pixels on electronic screens. He had chosen the joystick in the dark video arcade over sunshine, friends and life; mastering every single game…except one. An incredibly difficult game known as: The Bishop of Battle. Tonight he will challenge the Bishop again in an attempt to make it to the final, unreachable level thirteen. But unknown to J.J. is that level thirteen lies within the cyberspace of the Twilight Zone.” Closing: "Meet J.J. Cooney, a boy who let his video game addiction literally consume him. He is now trapped in the Bishop’s maze of monsters, an avatar whose actions will now be forever controlled by every gamer who can pay the price of a single quarter. For J.J. it’s “Game Over” in the arcade of the Twilight Zone.”

Title: The Library of Living Stories Opening: “Meet Richard Tyler, a boy who sees the world as one big danger zone, who bases his life off of fear and statistics looking to take the safest path down the journey of life. But tonight Richard will be forced off that path and into a world that is both strange as it is dangerous. He will have to walk a magical route where the cobblestones are books and stories, through the Twilight Zone.” Closing: “While traveling through the magical library of stories, Richard Tyler was taught a lesson in courage by Dr. Jekyll, Captain Ahab, Long John Silver, a Dragon, and most importantly the wizard of the written word: The Pagemaster. Returning home with his new confidence Richard can now live life to the fullest and has even picked up a few friends along way. A stirring conclusion written by the Pagemaster in the chronicles of the Twilight Zone."

Ghost 4: Balls of Light The following was told to me by Jan Gerest in regards to the brief disappearance of her boyfriend, Trik Yeakle. —Eliash Hautre It was just after the end of the school year the event happened. It was in the early evening when a pod of the young merpeople who had just graduated, made their way to the surface and swam to a nearby tropical island in the middle of the Pacific. The island was small and deserted which made it the perfect place to party in celebration of grad and a hopeful and exciting start to their end of term holidays. Jan Gerest and Trik Yeakle were among the pod. Jan Gerest and Trik Yeakle had been teenage sweethearts since early in the semester when they accidentally bumped into each other trying to swim through the classroom door at the same time. Their brief apology turned into a conversation, which led to them sitting next to one another in class. They

Merboys: 13 Ghosts: Ghost 2: Mermaid Blue Dress
Ghost 2: The Mermaid in the Blue Dress Hezar Geralf was senior Archivist of the Library of Antaria for 40 years of his life. He had seen his fair share of events that went on at the library. Some major, like a thief who attempted to steal a rare manuscript by pulling a knife to Hezar’s throat and attempted to force him to open the cabinet where the book was on display. Thankfully the security disarmed the thief before he could harm him. And some minor, like a couple of mischievous merchildren who attempted to use a couple of books as building blocks which resulted in a ten-foot tall stack that toppled over causing a hardcover at the top of the pile to whack him on the head, knocking him out. Hezar told me that he didn’t know what was worse; the thief that pulled a knife on him or the merchildren causing a massive mess of the “Human Literature” section, and a lump on the head for him. However none of these occurrences stood out in his mind more than what he described as the strangest

Merboys: 13 Ghosts from the Haunted Deep Intro
13 Ghosts of the Haunted Deep Written by Eliash Hautre Translated by Professor David Jane Greene PHD Note to Reader: The following story takes place in San Francisco at the turn of the 20th century. At a time when the segregation of non-whites was common place. Ergo this story does contain references to Jim Crow laws and such injustices. It is this author's belief that it is more important to acknowledge that such things existed rather than pretending that they didn't exist. The inclusion of these elements doesn't reflex the author's own views on the subject. Adolph Sutro was an actual historical figure who did exist. He is portrayed in a fictional context. All other characters in this story are fictional. Any references to any actual people, living or dead, is purely coincidental. -Puzzle1022 Introduction By Professor David Jane Greene PHD It was on Halloween Night in the year 1900 just a little after 9 P.M. I had just finished giving out candy to what I hoped was the last

I wish everyone a Happy Halloween. I originally intended to have all my Merboys 13 days of Halloween stories written and posted by now. But that's not going to happen now. However I'm determined to get them all finished. I will try and get some written and posted sometime in November. I apologize for the wait. Puzzle1022
Merboys 13 days of Halloween Almost a year ago, just after Halloween, I came up with an idea to write 13 Ghost Stories that take place in the world of Merboys. A world created by my friend @CartoonJohnStudios :iconCartoonJohnStudios:. An event I call "Merboys 13 days of Halloween". Over the course of this October I hope to have all 13 written and posted. However I can't guarantee I'll be able to make the deadline and some of them might end up getting posted in November. Happy Halloween to @CartoonJohnStudios :iconCartoonJohnStudios: and everyone else. Puzzle1022
